Further to yesterday’s communication we have taken the necessary steps to accept online and telephone bookings 8 days in advance.

This is to ensure that you can book a tee time easier and at a time that Starters are quieter to be able to answer the telephone.

From 12 noon Friday 20th March, you will be able to book tee times for Saturday 28th March.

To enable us to accurately record round usage, please give all golfers names at the time of booking.

The following safety measures that come into immediate effect have been considered in relation to current government advice and guidance from key golf industry sources such as: Scottish Golf (SGL), Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA), Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and Royal & Ancient (R&A)

These actions will be taken on all courses to minimise touching potentially contaminated surfaces.

• All bunker rakes will be removed from the course. We will introduce a temporary local rule for all club competitions that bunkers are GUR, to permit a free lift and drop from the hazard.
  For social games, if you still wish to play from the bunkers please use a club or your foot to smooth out the sand for the next player.
• All ball washers will be removed or covered up until further notice.
• To reduce contact with the golf pins hole cups will set upside down within the hole. Please do not remove the pins whilst putting.
• Golf buggies will not be available for hire until further notice.

South Ayrshire Council are striving to keep all our courses open for everyone to enjoy. Golf is an ideal pastime during this period of uncertainty and we will do all we can to maintain our courses unless the government decide otherwise.
