South Ayrshire Council commits to over £5M invesment into Golf Courses

South Ayrshire Council’s first-class golf facilities are a fantastic draw for local residents and visitors alike, and it recently confirmed a £5 million investment into Belleisle and Darley Golf Courses over the next three years.

This investment follows the recent works in 2021 to complete safer walking routes through Darley Golf Course as well as the creation of new wildlife habitats.

A significant remodelling of the 2nd and 3rd holes on Lochgreen Golf Course were completed in 2023, to resolve longterm drainage problems that affected the playability of the holes for several months throughout the season. New modern storage and welfare units are also set to be built, which will include offices, locker rooms with drying facilities, showers, and additional storage for our valued greenkeeping team.

Belleisle and Seafield Golf Courses recieved £140,000 Nature Restoration funding from the Scottish Governement in 2022 and two large ponds were created, adding to the already impressive golfing challenge on these courses.

The extensive modernisation of Belleisle and Darley Golf Courses is currently being progressed and we’re excited to be working with the talented team at Pangaea Golf Architecture, in association with Paul Lawrie. Plans also include significantly improving the current practice facilities at Belleisle.
